My New Life in Paris

David is a 27-year-old single man who has just started a new job in finance at La Défense. He grew up with his parents in Poitiers. After completing a master’s degree in market finance, he joined a large bank in Tours, where he worked for two years. He then landed a position as an assistant trader at La Défense. In September 2025, he moved into a high-end apartment on Rue Louis Rouquier in Levallois-Perret. David quickly noticed the significant visibility from the building across the street. At nightfall, when the lights come on, he can observe the lives of the residents who haven’t bothered to close their shutters or properly block the view. Living alone and looking for ways to fill his evenings, he spends a good part of his nights watching the people opposite… even if it means being watched in return.
